FAST Program
This online learning program is designed for high school dropouts or students considering dropping out who are 18-21. It is an online public school alternative to the GED. It is a rapid credit recovery pass/fail program. Students are expected to complete two years of high school studies online in one year’s time. Each student is assigned an accountability coach who will work with the student to ensure that they move through their online courses, and assist students in developing a career pathway for life after high school. The FAST program is available to students in Fairborn and the surrounding area within 50 miles. Enrollment in this program is limited to the number of accountability coaches available.
FDA Dual Credit Program
This online home schooling program is designed for highly motivated high school students who want to receive both college and high school credit for courses taken at a collegiate level. Students must have a GPA of at least 3.0 and an ACT score of at least 21 to enroll in this online program. Students enrolled in this program are taking their online dual credit courses through Kent State University or Sinclair Community College. Students are assigned an accountability coach to assist them in completing high school and earning as much as two years of college credit. Enrollment is open to Fairborn and surrounding area students.
FIRST Program
The FIRST Program is for Fairborn residents only, and is designed for students looking for an alternative high school experience, who prefer a high degree of personal instructional assistance in a small school environment. Students enrolled in this online program MUST attend this school two days a week and be able to complete online courses at home the remaining time that the program requires. FIRST is a graded high school program that allows students to earn a GPA for college entrance, and complete high school in less time as it is a continuous progress scbool. Students with at least a 3.0 and an ACT test score of 21 or better will be able to take dual credits courses. This gives them an opportunity to receive up to two years of college credit while in high school.
FIRST Special Education Program
The FIRST Special Education Program is for Fairborn City School District residents only and is designed for students who are looking for an alternative high school experience with a high degree of personal instructional assistance in a small school environment. Students MUST attend this school on Friday and be able to complete online courses at home the remaining time that the program requires. This is a graded online program that allows students to earn a high school GPA for college entrance. Students in this program will have the opportunity to complete high school in a sufficiently reduced time frame as it is a continuous progressing school.
